a 18th century couple - Thomas and Martha Jefferson my previous work with these two: 1 | 2
because they both knew what ‘Death’ means: Martha lost her mother when she was just 6 days old -probably because of her birth- and 4 children during her lifetime (one from a previous marriage ; three with Thomas). Later, Thomas buried her and two of their daughters. Only one of their 6 children past the age of 25.
ugh… poor babies :’(

Ah what a harsh, cruel fate to endure, watching all your children and now your adored wife died before you. That must have been horrendous! This is goreous, by the way-the ringlets of hair, the detail of their frocks and the interlocking of her delicate hand upon his neck...your art work astounds me more and more and I can only dream that one day I can draw my beloved historical figures in this manner too! You have no idea how much I enjoy and admire your work, a million times, thank you!
